Our animal hospital has a fully-stocked pharmacy and carries a line of prescription dietary items from the most highly-regarded suppliers. It is important that you consult with your doctor to ensure that your pet receives the proper care for their particular case.

Prescription Policy

Washington County Veterinary Hospitals maintains an on-site pharmacy to ensure our patients receive the best products available and provide convenience to our clients.

We offer Vetcove as our online store and pharmacy. Our doctors can prescribe and approve medications and other products for pet owners.

We will provide a written prescription upon request, provided that we have recently examined your pet, that its required tests are current, and that the particular medication or product requested is appropriate based on the weight and health of the animal. The timeframe of ‘recent examination’ and ‘current’ test is at the doctor’s discretion but will never exceed more than one year from your pet’s last annual examination and last negative/normal test.

If you do not wish to use our on-site or online pharmacy, then a written prescription will be provided directly to you. You may request to pick it up at any time we are open. If you choose to use an internet/catalog pharmacy to obtain your pet’s medications, you should mail the original written prescription to the pharmacy.

We do not respond to fax requests or telephone calls requesting prescription authorizations.
